De acordo com uma pesquisa do Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE), a Bahia foi o segundo estado que teve o maior número de pessoas beneficiadas com o auxílio emergencial do governo.
Segundo a pesquisa feita pelo IBGE, aponta que cerca de 61,2% dos baianos receberam a quantia do governo federal no mês de maio, o que representa cerca de R$ 2,4 bilhões. O valor equivale a 10,3% de toda a verba nacional para o período.
O estudo ainda mostra que seis a cada dez baianos receberam o auxílio. Além disso, em ao menos 180 mil residências de famílias com baixa renda, nenhum dos moradores recebeu o benefício.
